8348 Air Accelerator for Waterborne Paints

Standard Tools is proud to introduce new PAD2000 Air Accelerator, our answer to expediting the curing process required for water-borne paint and glue.  Numerous areas and industries are moving to water-borne paints and glues.  The curing process of this type of paint or glue is dependent on airflow, not heat or light.  Our new easy-to-use Air Amplifier unit expedites the curing process as much as 70% by putting more air across the wet surface.  The unit increases focused airflow by 25 times with no moving parts or power source required by using compressed air to draw in ambient air through an aluminum head.  A recent test in our facility reduced the cure time from 43 minutes to 10 minutes by using the Air Amplifier on parts coated with water-borne paint.

The process involves coating the part in a normal fashion and then connecting the unit to the compressed air line (taken from the spraygun) to concentrate ambient air on a desired area.  The compressed air should be dried with a desiccant dryer, like our Model 4300-series evaporators.  There are no additional filters to deal with since this unit is intended to be used in a filtered spraybooth.  The Air Amplifier weighs only 55 pounds and can be adjusted in height and angle to blow across the wet surface.  The best method is to set the unit about 2-4 feet away from the wet surface.  Large parts can be dried with multiple units.  The Air Amplifier has an air pressure gage, a adjustable flow valve and a shut-off valve so that the air flow can be customized to the specific need.

We are excited that this unit is so easy to use, safe and inexpensive while yielding great improvements in the curing process.  Other manufacturers offer more expensive units that require electrical power, take up more room and are not easy to use or adjust, but we believe that our Air Accelerator is the best answer to this curing requirement.
